Urban glamscapes – faith connexion
Nikola Vasari’s outing as the creative director fused together an array of influences while staying true to the brand’s young street couture aesthetic. Staged in an underground Parisian nightclub, the show gave one eveningwear proposition after another – slinky lurex minidresses, chain-embellished or skilfully destroyed sweater dresses, fringed metallic suits and lots of eye shadow. Indeed, the collection paid homage to glam icons such as Grace Jones, David Bowie, Lou Reed in that it was unapologetically rock’n’roll. Though the influences lay mostly in the Eighties, the line-up still felt fresh and relevant — glamour is very much alive and well thanks to Vasari.
